On behalf of the International Dockworkers Council (IDC), we wish to express our sincerest solidarity regarding the situation of our colleague Erik Helgesson. We value his commitment to the democratic principles of his union and his respect for the decisions made collectively.
Following the conversation with our colleague Sergio Sousa, we are aware of the situation Erik is facing. For this reason, IDC offers its support, acting in accordance with what the union deems most appropriate for the development of events, without aiming to influence or harm their potential strategy. Therefore, should our intervention be required, we kindly ask to be contacted to discuss how we can collaborate in the most effective way possible, always respecting the union’s approach.
We are determined to ensure that both Erik’s rights as a worker and the decisions democratically made by the union are respected.
We reaffirm our commitment to justice and trade union freedom and are ready to collaborate to ensure that this situation is resolved in the best possible way for Erik.
