The MUA AND IDC STANDS WITH OUR COMRADE, ERIK HELGESON

It has been reported through the International Dockers Movement that our Comrade, Erik Helgeson has been sacked.

Comrade Erik’s crime, along with his fellow Swedish Docker Comrades took a stand against genocide and the terror waged on the Palestinian civilians in Gaza.

Erik and his Comrades in twenty Swedish ports led a symbolic six-day blockade against military cargo destined for Israel.

Erick’s employer DFDS responded by sacking Erik.

To our Comrade Erik, the MUA and all our IDC Affiliates in the Asia-Oceanic zone stand in solidarity with you. Your courage and leadership to stand up against genocide and the murder of innocent Palestinians, to stand up for peace in our world not war is truly an inspiration to all dockers of the world, and more broadly the working class.

The MUA Sydney Branch, the IDC Asia-Oceanic zone and all our Affiliates call on DFDS and demand the immediate reinstatement of our Comrade, Erik Helgeson immediately.

To DFSD, your act of bastardry will not be tolerated by the International Dockers movement. The attack on Erik is an attack on all.

There will no peace until Comrade Erik is reinstated. We call on all our affiliates to act when called upon.

In finishing, Workers and Unions believe in peace not war. Peace is Union business.

The brutality of forced starvation on the Gaza population and genocide being committed in Gaza perpetrated by Israel and the crimes AGAINST humanity must stop and those responsible be brought to justice for their crimes.

Until then Workers of the world will continue to take action and strike. The Swedish Dockers have led theway, displaying the greatest of humanity in their six-day strike actions stopping military cargo destined for Israel. You, Comrades, are heroes of the Working Class.

Free free Palestine, permanent cease fire now and long live the resistance.
